Lance watched as Oktober and Char awkwardly moved their chairs and desks closer. Char sat across from him, and Oktober sat, well, at the other end of the table. Weird. Lance looked around at the group he had been paired up with. This'll be an interesting project, he thought to himself. "Okay, so where do we wanna start on this first project, guys?" Lance asked the group, hoping to get the ball rolling.

Callie was trying to wrap her head around the project. A religious diorama that makes a statement about politics, ethics, economics, and everything else under the sun? It didn't really make any sense. Plus, wasn't religious symbolism, like... against school rules or something? "Does anyone here know how to make a diorama in the first place?" she asked her group. She knew Lance wasn't great at art, so that was a lost cause, but maybe one of her other group members was. She didn't really know either of her group members- Oktober was the kind of person to completely pass under the radar, and Charlie... well, if he was wearing his mask, it'd probably be a different story, but she'd never heard the name 'Charlie Cunobelinus' before, and that's what the teacher had called him when sorting them into groups.

It took a few seconds before Oktober could get her voice loud enough but she said, finqlly, "how about a nativity scene with a creeping Judas?" In her head, it seemed to incorporate everything Ned Flanders required of this totally unorthodox-orthodox, and completely unrelated to the curriculum, art assignment.

What? Lance had no idea what she just said, but it sounded like she knew what she was talking about. Considering Lance never really knew much about this religion crap, he decided to stay silent and hoped the rest of the group knew what language Oktober was speaking.

Char, as the future leader of Zeon, had very little interest in religion. The only faith he had any concern over, was the faith his peasants had in him as a leader. As a result, when Oktober brought up her idea, he immediately got behind it. "That diorama should satisfy the desires of our teacher," he said out loud to the group. After a short pause, he looked to Oktober, "Through which medium do you suppose we create this assignment?" he asked.

"Wait a minute," Callie interrupted them. They were getting behind this idea too quickly. While she wasn't the most knowledgeable about religion, Callie had seen enough Christmas movies to know what the nativity was. "Would Judas even be around for the birth of Christ? I thought it was only like, the three wise men." To be honest, Callie wasn't too sure who Judas was- he was the one who betrayed Jesus, maybe? "I mean, I don't really have any better ideas..."

"No," Oktober answered Callie, "But its gotta be political, right? Therefore controversial... Something that could offend the feeble minded, you know?" As she got more excited, she talked faster and louder. She sat up straighter in her chair. "And maybe we can make them out of clay."

Lance nodded. Clay. A word he understood. "I like clay. Why not?" Lance asked, deciding to contribute something to this project. He figured he should have some opinion, even if it didn't matter.

"These ideas seem very acceptable," Char spoke. "I shall go and retrieve the materials needed from the teacher." Standing up, Char made a point of pushing his chair in, before turning and walking to the teachers desk. Communicating the ideas the group had discussed, the teacher nodded in agreement, and went and gathered clay, toothpicks, and googly eyes for Char.
Returning to the group's table, Char placed the materials down on the desk, and sat back down at the table. "I have gathered the appropriate materials," he announced.

The googly eyes though. Oktober almost laughed. We will need paint for the next class," she said, " maybe something textured we can make a barn and farm things out of too." She didn't want to reject one of her partners' ideas on the first day. Char had to be joking though.

"I take it you're actually good at art?" Callie asked Oktober. It's a good thing at least one of them had artistic talent. "How should we split up the work? I could paint, maybe?"

(Lol I always make short posts)
"I can make the clay figures..." Oktober was now hesitant,"it'll probably be better if we work on it together." She didn't wanr to be stuck doing another entire year of group assignments all on her own. This was risky, and the most she had ever spoken to anyone other than her brothers.

Lance realized that they had a plan put together, and the group was now ready to work. "So where are we going to do this?" Lance felt that the group needed more time to finish this assignment. They couldn't do the whole thing in class, there just wasn't enough time. "Uh, whose house, I mean. We probably need more time to get a good mark. We want a good mark, right?"

Char sat and listened to the discussions going on in the group, and when the topic of doing the project at another's house was brought up, he immediately realized how good an opportunity this could be to raise morale and strengthen themselves as a team.
"If you would all desire, " Char spoke, "we could come together and work on this project within my household? My mother would be very accommodating and would offer us plentiful nourishment."

Callie wasn't sure how comfortable she felt going to this kid's house. She wasn't worried about 'stranger danger,' considering there would be four of them and all, but this guy spoke in the weirdest possible way. If his family was like that too, well... it'd be an interesting experience. "Are you sure we wouldn't be, uh, imposing, or anything?" she asked, hoping for an excuse to do the project elsewhere.
