The man's eyes never wavered from Anja's. The glare from the window outside reflected on his glasses, only intensifying his gaze on her. Anja felt her face getting hot, as they stood there in a painful silence, every other sound became louder; the clock ticking, the baby sighing, and every set of footsteps that passed by the door. Her breath caught as she saw a shadow under the door linger, and then finally leave after a minute. She looked back at the man. "This is dangerous," she whispered. This wasn't the first man she kept in her quarters, but it never got any less nerve-wracking. "Oh, you don't have to tell me that, beautiful Koskova" the man winked, and Anja shook her head. "No. No. No. Don't do that. Just tell me what you want," Anja said. The man raised his hand to her face, tracing a line along her jaw to the back of her neck. "No, don't. Don't!" The man's other hand was on her back, and he pulled her to his chest. He lowered his own face to her ear, grazing it with his teeth, waiting for her to protest. "Ask me something you don't know," his tongue darted out as he nibbled, his mouth, slowly working its way down. Anja's heart was beating fast, "Tell me your name," she sighed, letting her head fall back to grant this stranger easier access to her delicate neck. By now, she had forgotten to be shy of this man and had her fingers tangled in his hair. His lips only left her neck for a brief moment to tell her, "Enjolras." She knew that name, but she couldn't quite recall where she had heard it. In any case, it could be coincidental. They had both forgotten about the maid, shyly turning away from the couple and pretending to tend to the baby. She always kept quiet about anything that happened in the castle. It was part of her job. "But what's your full name?" Enjolras chuckled, "Baby, we've only just met. I can't give something that incriminating away yet now, can I?" "Ha!" Anja tried to push him away. "I know you know who I am. It's only fair." Enjolras held her chin she couldn't look away and grinned. "Life isn't fair. A girl like you should know that."

Raimund spotted four soldiers on the roof of a building, and one lay severely wounded. It had to be Wenzel lying on the ground, and Emmerich accompanied by two others. "Hey!" He shouted to them. "The battle's almost won, and the sun is setting! How's Wenzel doing?" Raimund had great concern for Wenzel. He was a close friend, and he didn't want anything to happen to him. He didn't want to be alone again. He landed next to the few, and asked for their names.
"I'm Jeena Albrecht, sir! It is a pleasure to meet you, Lothar the Great! I have heard many stories about you!" Jeena was quite the fan of Raimund. How a man could survive for a week outside of the walls, and still make it back alive, was truly something to aspire to. But this is Jeena we're talking about here. She won't really make it anywhere.
This wasn't the first time someone went semi-fan-girl on Lothar. Usually, he said something inspiring or gave them a cookie, but he had no cookies on him. However, there was something in this girl's eyes that made him think she was worth more than just a cookie. He saw a spark in her eyes, albeit a small, worthless spark created by two very dull rocks clacking together, but there was still something in her eyes. Something that made her worth more than just a cookie. Perhaps a large cookie. Yes, that's more fitting for a girl such as this. A very large cookie.
"Umm, sir?" Jeena was dumbfounded, as the great Raimund Lothar was stood staring into her eyes for almost two minutes straight now. "...Perhaps you didn't catch my name. I'm Jee-"
"Jeena Albrecht, yes I heard you. Sorry, I was thinking about cookies." He turned and looked to Yew, who was patching up his good friend Wenzel. Woah, it's that one soldier Raimund talked with earlier. Huh, it's always odd when you see someone who has managed to stay alive long enough to meet again. But what was this guys name? Dammit, Raimund didn't want to come off as rude and not remember one of his soldiers names, but he couldn't for the life of him. Instead, he came up with a compromise. He decided to call him out in a way that sounded like he remembered him, but also didn't have to say his name. "Ah, well if it isn't you!" Little did Raimund know, he actually just said Yew's name.
--
It was getting late and Bianka had finished her shift. "Ah, the burden that is a job..." Bianka sighed. On her way home she passed the store that she brought her dress from. There was another one of the dresses in the window, and it had a sign next to it mentioning a ball at the courtroom. "Need something for your special someone at the ball tomorrow night?" A ball! Bianka was bursting with joy. She finished reading the sign "Be there or be square!" Oh, she'll be there alright. "OOOOHHHHHHHHHHH! I needtogoineedtogoineedtogoooooo!" Bianka rushed home and told her mom all about the ball tomorrow. She prepared her outfit, and when she was satisfied, she went straight to bed. "Oooohhh, the boys I'll meet, the dances I'll have, the friends I'll make! Life has never been so exciting!" It's funny how one night Bianka will cry about how depressing her life is, and within 24 hours, she feels like she's living life to the fullest.

Yew, looked up from the injured man, and looked to the commander. "Sir. Do we have anyone on the expedition who's trained in medicine? They don't even need to be a doctor. Just someone with more experience than simple first aid." Yew shook his head at the whole situation. It was a mess. People dying all over the place, no doctors, and a commander busy thinking about cookies. "If we don't get this man some proper treatment soon, I'm not sure he'll survive the next 24 hours," Yew reported.

Worry flooded Raimund's face. 24 hours. As far as he knew, there were only one or two soldiers that had the equivalent skill as a doctor. Who knows if they're alive, but if they are, they would be near the entrance. "Listen up. I'm gonna look for a doctor, and in the meantime, I want you guys to find a building to settle down in for the night. If I can't find a doctor, then I myself will ride Wenzel home." After that, Raimund headed out to find a doctor.
Jeena watched as Raimund left. She pondered why Raimund had stared into her eyes and thought of cookies. It was kind of weird.... Anyway, she looked to the others and pointed out a building near the entrance that looked like it had lots of room for soldiers. "How about that one? It's close to an exit in case of danger and looks pretty untouched."
Raimund saw a small group of soldiers near the entrance. They must be the assets that can't risk their lives. "Soldiers!" He shouted to them. "Are any of you trained in medical sciences? I have a wounded soldier that needs treatment immediately!" They looked at him, and then back to each other. "I am, sir!" One of them responded.

Yew looked to the building that Jeena had pointed out. He was suprised to find that she was correct in her observations, and that it was actually an ideal place for them to hideout. Perhaps she wasn't quite as stupid and incapable as he initially thought. With a shrug, Yew stood up and adjusted the straps on his 3D maneuver gear. They were slightly looser than usual, as a result of his newfound semi-nudity. "So who's going to carry him?" Yew asked the group.

"I can carry him," Emmerich volunteered. He had already carried Wenzel all the way here, what were a few more feet? He knelt down to allow Wenzel to grab onto his back. The building that Jeena had pointed out looked untouched, and was conveniently place, so he figured there was really no question that that would be where they would stay. Once Wenzel was safely on his back, he used his 3D maneuver gear to get to the building, carefully landing on the ground by the door so that he wouldn't hurt Wenzel in the process.

"I'm home!" Urban called out as he entered his manor. Strangely, he was greeted by... silence? The doorman knew he would be coming home from school at this time and was usually there to greet him, but it looked like he forgot today, or maybe he was taking the day off? Oh well. Urban took his coat off, placing it on the coat rack, and took his shoes off. As he walked through the foyer, he was surprised at how silent the house was- usually he could hear the sounds of the maids footsteps as they worked upstairs, but the house seemed... abandoned. That was weird. Before he could call out to see if anyone was around, he heard a woman's scream coming from upstairs. Oh no. That sounded like his mother! Had someone broken in? Was she in danger? There was no time to waste! Without even thinking, he ran up the stairs. "Mom? Where are you? Are you okay?" he shouted, as he went through the hall. There were so many rooms to look in! Why did there have to be so many rooms? As he made his way through the hall, though, he began to hear voices coming from his parents bedroom. The sound was muffled by the door, but he could hear his mother's voice. Was it his imagination, or did she sound frantic? She was probably begging for her life from this intruder! He ran into one of the other rooms, grabbing one of the tea tables from inside, holding it by its stem. Then he went back to outside his parent's room. Taking a deep breath, he grabbed the door handle and tried to turn it- but the door was locked! This was just getting worse and worse. He was going to have to break the door down. He walked a few feet away from the door, held the table like one would hold a battering ram, and ran, bashing the door open in just one try. "Get away from my mother, if you know what's good for you!" he shouted into the room, wielding the battering ram- I mean, the table- like a weapon. "... Urban, dear? What are you doing?" Wait, what? Why was his mom so... calm? Wasn't she about to be killed? That's when he actually looked around himself. There were eight other people in the room; his mother, five maids, the doorman, and the butler. All were staring at him, confused. "... What's going on in here?" he asked. "There's a ball at the castle tomorrow night... so I asked everyone to help me figure out what to wear. Urban... what are you planning to do with that table?" His mother was sitting in front of her vanity, all different kinds of make-up around her, and there was a maid brushing her hair. Oh god. This was... really embarrassing. Urban's face was red. "Why... I heard you scream! Why did you scream! I thought you were in danger..." "So you were planning on using that tea table as a weapon? Do you have any idea how much that costs?" His mother sighed, resignedly. Urban could feel himself shrinking under his mother's disapproval. God. He should have thought this through. "I... I didn't... Why did you scream?" "Because I've outgrown my favourite dress! That's no reason to assume I was in danger!" She turned away from him, muttering to herself. "Now I'll have to hire someone to repair the door... such an unnecessary cost..."
Urban stepped outside of the room. He felt like an idiot. He should have used something else as a weapon, or, better yet, not overreacted. His mother was so angry with him now, and he knew his father would be even worse. Now he'd have to do something to make it up to them...

Hagen and the rest of the students headed back to the dining room; this time, for supper. He sat down at another empty table, just like before, but this time he didn't expect to be alone for long. Surely enough that clueless puppy Edel would come running back to him. Probably followed by some other kids he's managed to befriend.
--
Jeena followed Emmerich and opened the doors to the building. She rushed in and scouted around. The room was large and almost barren. A table here and there, accompanied by a chair or two each. She found a few table cloths and laid them together on a table, creating a make-shift bed for Wenzel. "Put him over here, Emmerich!" she shouted to him.
Raimund talked to the doctor, asking his name and telling him to help out. The doctor's name was Alban, and he said that he was the trained medical professional for this excursion. Together they headed back to where the group used to be. Raimund prayed that this Alban guy could help out.

Diana yawned after a long day of chores. She told her mom that she was going out. Perhaps to buy a bag of sweets from the local store. "Hey, mind if I come too?" her brother called. He came running down the stairs, putting on his nice, fancy jacket. Gerome was 3 years older than her, and a tall, dashing man. To others, at least. Diana has only known him for 3 years and yet she still sees him as the idiotic goof that he is. "I guess you can come. I'm only going out to get candy." "With what money?" he laughed, and tossed her a few coins. Gerome had earned quite a lot of money since he started working as a salesman, meaning he had enough coins to throw around, literally. "Thanks! Now that you've paid your fee, then you can definitely come." She smiled at him, and they both headed out the door. She had already told him about how she was kissed by another girl, but she made him promise not to tell their parents. On the way to the store, a couple of guys started talking to Gerome. Diana overheard them talking about some ball tomorrow night. They seemed to be inviting Gerome to it. Oh, if only Diana could also go to this ball. It was apparently 500 dollars, and there was no way Diana could get that much money. "Sorry guys, not interested. I'm not much of a party guy." Gerome dismissed his friends and walked back to Diana. "Why won't you go to the party? It could be so much fun!" Diana was upset that he was wasting such a good opportunity. "Tell you what, lover girl. I'll give you money to go to the party, and maybe you can smooch some more girls for me." He jested to her. She blushed and tried to laugh off her embarrassment, but more importantly, her brother just offered her a ticket to this ball tomorrow. "I-I-I'll go! Please!" "Alright. How about instead of buying you some candy, we'll buy you something nice for tomorrow." Gerome was pointing at a fancy dress shop down the road, suggesting to check there. Although her brother could be a total moron, he was also probably the nicest guy she knew.

As the group started to leave the rooftop, it occurred to Yew that the commander would come back and not realize where they were. "I'm just going to wait here and watch for the commander's return, and keep an eye out for any straggler titans." With that, the group departed, leaving Yew all by his lonesome on the rooftop. Leisurely, Yew leaned against the house's chimney pipe, and scanned the ground and skies for any sign of movement. A group of geese flying overhead momentarily caught his attention, and reminded him of the meal he had eaten hours before. God, he could really go for some food right about now. It was getting late, but holy shit he was so hungry he could eat a goose.

Emmerich went ahead and put Wenzel on the table. It probably wasn't the most comfortable spot, but it would have to do. Now all they could do was wait, and hope the commander was able to find someone with medical experience.

Of course Edel went and sat right across from Hagen because let's be real here, they're besties. He was silent for a couple of seconds, but it didn't last long. "Oh! Hagen! At lunch you were telling me that you play the triangle, right?" Thanks to the tour, he had almost completely forgotten what they'd been talking about before! "Is it fun? Do you have friends who you played instruments with? Or... DID you have friends who you played instruments with...?" Yikes. Awkward. He didn't know where Hagen was from, but the guy had clearly been through some shit. Probably shouldn't have brought up friends. It was too late now, though.

Oh my god. Edel brought up the triangle again. This is exactly what Hagen was trying to avoid. Then Edel brought up playing the triangle with friends, and his tone changed. Must have been because he mentioned friends. This was a good chance to be silent, and make Edel realize that Hagen didn't want to put up with his bullshit. He must have thought that Hagen was sensitive when it came to friends or family. He wasn't, not any more at least... Hagen had decided his opinion on friends when he was young. After his three best friends made fun of his hair-cut, he was done with them. He also wasn't particularly upset to see them pushing each other off the carts, and as a fair result, being eaten by titans. After some silence, Hagen looked up to Edel, and in a tone that seemed to say "I don't want any company now", Hagen said "I don't want any company now." Hagen backed up a bit because he didn't want to sound rude, so he said "I mean, your company is nice and all," Oh Hagen, you'll regret saying that, "but I'm really tired right now." It was true. Such a strong change of environment could exhaust a person.

Raimund, alongside the doctor, Alban, caught sight of a familiar face. It was that guy whose name he couldn't remember. Raimund stopped on the roof of the building and asked where the others went. Alban had brought a small wooden box, probably containing his tools. He looked impatient to get to work. Raimund appreciated that Alban showed some concern on his face, meaning he cared about saving lives. It was always good to have someone like that around.

Yew greeted Raimund when he made his reappearance, and was pleased to see he had found a doctor. "They're in the building over there, sir!" Yew pointed out the building in question. After motioning for Raimund to follow him, Yew used his 3D maneuver gear and projected himself towards the building.

"Understood!" Raimund followed Yew to the building, and when they arrived, Raimund burst through the door. When he saw the table Wenzel was laid upon, he told Alban to go there and see what he could do. "In the meantime, I will survey the situation outside. I'll be back in half an hour to see how everything is!"
Jeena nodded in response and wished the commander best of luck. After allowing Alban to take a look at the situation, Jeena asked "So, umm, can you save him?" He replied "It's obvious what I have to do, but I'll have to wait and see how it plays out." He looked to Wenzel's face and made sure he was passed out. "This will take some time. I'll need to clean the wound and do my best to patch it up. If you want, you can help with the titan situation or set up beds for the other scouts. This is only one injury, after all. I'm gonna have many more to deal with tonight."
Jeena thought about it. Slay titans, or make beds? After looking at the makeshift bed she made for Wenzel, she decided that she was better at making beds than killing titans, even if just barely. Talking to Emmerich, she said "Hey, uhh, what's-your-name, I'll make the beds. Do you wanna deal with the titans?"
Outside, Raimund climbed to the top of a building and looked at the battlefield. It was almost empty. Really, the scouts had basically won. Four to five titans left. Soon, the soldiers would be able to rest after finding supplies. They would be able to return home and stun the citizens with the food they brought back. Raimund could taste success. This would be another expedition survived. He did not smile, though. As usual, the losses were greater than the gains.

Emmerich nodded, "Sure." He knew that he would fare better than this girl against the titans; he had seen her dangling helplessly, after all. Without another word, he went out the door and climbed up the building in order to survey his surroundings. There really weren't many titans left, which was a relief. After everyone had done so much work, it would have been disheartening to see the titans no worse for wear. Deciding on a titan to fight, he quickly adjusted his 3D manuever gear and went on his way.
Sera had... not managed to do much other than stay alive. The few times she had managed to get her blade to a titan's neck, she just hadn't been able to cut deep enough. So instead of properly fighting the titans, she found that she worked better as bait; if she came across a titan, she would make sure another scout was nearby, and then distract the titan, making it easier for the other scouts to slay it. And it had worked! The sun was setting now, and the light was beginning to fade. Maybe I should just go back to the gate, she thought. There were more than enough scouts to deal with the remaining titans, she was sure; the gas in her 3D manuever gear was getting low, as well, so really, going back and finding some place to stay made the most sense.
--
Edel had crossed a line, he knew it. "Oh, okay... I'll go eat somewhere else then," he said, standing up. "Sorry if I, you know, bothered you." He just thought that it would be better to talk about hobbies than, well, the whole titan business. Now Hagen was going to have to sit alone, which is the whole reason Edel had sat next to him during lunch in the first place.

Half an hour passed, and Raimund returned to check in on Wenzel. Everything seemed to be going okay, so he headed back outside. Jeena had done a sub-par job on preparing beds, but no one had high expectations from her, anyways. Raimund noticed that the fighting had stopped, and all the titans appeared to be slain. For several minutes, he scoured the streets finding wounded soldiers and sending them back to the building. After another half hour, he was certain every living person had been brought back, and the injured were being treated. Alban had done a mighty fine job helping Wenzel. Raimund saw Wenzel's face. He looked blissful, lying there asleep. Raimund gathered a large group of soldiers and told them what their next task was. "Listen up! It's night time, and the titans are gone. The only risk now is your lack of skill with ODM gear. I want small groups of 3 to search for food and supplies. When each group returns, they may rest, and another group heads out." Raimund had done this before. After the 2nd or 3rd time, he realized that allowing the soldiers to rest and work was the most effective way. "We will then stuff the carts overnight, and head out at sunrise! Excellent job today, everybody! The first groups will head out in an hour, but for now, please, take some time to mourn for the dead. " With that, Raimund turned around and headed to Alban, who was working busily on mending the wounded. "So Alban. Wenzel will be okay, right?" Alban looked up to Raimund, blood on his hands and shirt. "Yeah, he should be up and at em' in a day or two." "Thank you, Alban. Really, I owe you so much. You don't know how hard it is to keep a friend around in this world. With Wenzel alive and safe, I also feel alive and safe. It's hard to stay the same, when everything around you is changing. When everyone you know dies, so do you. No one knows who you were, what you did, what you knew. By saving Wenzel, you saved me. There is nothing I can do to repay you, Alban." Raimund patted Alban on the back. "Keep doing what you do, Alban. You might be saving more lives than you think." Raimund left to check on others and to do a quick casualty report.
Alban watched the commander's back as he walked off and laughed to himself. "The commander has to be the fluffiest guy I know. The shit he says, man..." Alban continued to work, but he couldn't deny that there was some truth to what the commander said. It put a smile on his face.
Jeena stood back and looked at her work. She was proud she was able to give so many soldiers a comfy place to rest. She then decided to go to sleep. She didn't want to go outside and do work anytime soon.
--
Supper had finished, and Hagen stood up and headed to the door. It was now free time/bedtime for an hour. Hagen chose bedtime. He went to the cabin he was assigned, and crawled into the first bed he saw. He didn't care for any more meaningless introductions, besides the one with his pillow. It may become his most trustworthy companion yet. More so than the other trainees, he thought to himself.
